Ok It's been a while since I updated, my job has gotten in the way plus being a little sick doesn't help at all bit shit happens and I don't have time to grow a vagina so I trained right through it. SO I currently have bronchitis and trained heavy as shit yesterday doing raw benching and deadlifting in the same night. So here it goes. Also I have a meet in under 2 weeks and I am ready to kick ass. I will not be discussing openers at all. Because numbers are the last thing on my mind until meet day. Kind of a reverse psychology thing.
Warm-up's ------------------- Indian club circuits Rotater cuff work band circuits
Raw Benching ------------ barx10 95x10 135x8 185x8 225x5 245x5 260x3 275x1 Drop set 225x12 --------------------------------------
Deadlifts --------- 135x10 225x8 305x3 375x2 405x1 440x1 455x1 465x1 (PR) ---------------------------
150 pound sandbag cleans 3 sets of 5 reps.
This was a very solid training day. even though I was sick sort of I guess. I got a meet in 2 weeks and there was no excuse for me not training as much as I did, but that's life and it goes on. My hater's want me to stay home and "rest up", get weaker, and fatter. Well not going to happen. I am glad i hit the PR on the deadlift, because it was done with a regular super stiff gym bar, which means once meet time and we use the Okie bar, which has nice whip to it, I'll put up some nice numbers. Or I'll just try lol.
SILENCE THE HATERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Well everyone it's time. it's time to kick some serious major ass. I have my meet in 6 days, and I am beyond excited. My openers for my bench and deadlift openers went very very very smooth. My squat not so much, and I'm not going to harp on it, until the day of the meet when I meet my friend Marshall Johnson, who is a squatting monster, and he'll help me improve my technique the day of the meet. it isn't very practical, or smart, but honestly I don't give a shit I'm doing it.
I also will no longer be lifting for any specific purpose anymore, other to lift in honor of a girl who goes to my church. Ker name is Kaylee, she is 23 years old, and if you were to look at her you would think she is about 14, and is very very sick. She has Cancer, leukemia, and many many tumors. On top of that she has another disease that makes her bone's super weak and she can break her bones super super easy. She just found out one of the tumors in her head will be moving into her left eye socket, and that she will be permanently blind in that eye, and also she is on Chemo and it's making her very very sick.
Today at Church we were praying for her, and she said in front of the entire church, that she doesn't want to live any more, she wants to die. She doesn't want to feel pain anymore. And she is scared. It brought tears to my eyes. It's amazing to see a person wish for death, it honestly makes you think about whats important. So I have decided from this point on who gives one shit about the Haters, I am lifting in her honor. That is it.
Well anyways.
Training ----------------- Bench Opener-405 Deadlift Opener-440 -------------------------
Fight On Kaylee.

Well everyone the talk is over and I finally competed in a meet. and I loved every fricking second of it. It's amazing. I am 100 times as motivated as ever to lift and get HUGE fucking numbers. It was a great weekend every second of it. The day before the meet. The Day of the meet, and the day after all went well.
Well lets start.
Well first on Thursday night after work I headed down to Nutter's house, and spent the night, then after we did all our morning fun stuff, then packed the truck, and loaded the equipment we were bringing with us, and then moved on the way.
Then 4 and a half hours later after driving and stopping to eat 98 times we arrived in Fargo. When we got to their hotel, I went to sleep on their couch in their room, and Scott and Rachel went swimming. Well when they came back we went to weigh ins. I weighed in at 335.
Then after I made weight for the SHW's lol, my friend kathy came and got me, and her I went out to eat, hanged out, and had lots of fun. Then we went to sleep. She is My friend Marshall's fiance, whos name I have dropped in my logs quite a bit.
I woke up, and I was in game time mode, but man I was super super nervous. I was just going crazy lol. My mind was racing in a million different directions. And I was breathing heavy.
Once I got to the meet and I changed into my singlet, strapped on the chucks, listened in on the rules meeting, Then it was game time. IPOD was in and it was loud to drown out all extra noise.
Now lets talk about my squats. I just couldn't calm myself down. I missed my opener, and Scott was like take it down to a low number, and just get your self in the meet. So I unfortunately dropped the weight down to 275, then I made it. Then I squatted 308 with no problem.
Now lets talk about squats again. Squatting less then you weigh in a meet sucks. But I am glad everyone there was supportive of that, even the lifters. I realized that they don't care how much you lift or not. all that matters is I was there. I was doing the sport, and I was having a great time. That is all that matters. So it helped with confidence.
Then after squatting I knew it was bench time. And then I got excited, and really got the adrenaline pumping. For some reason at that point I ran to my bag, grabbed my wraps, sleeve slippers, bench shirt, and belt. I was ready for battle.
I got my warm ups in easy, and my bench shirt fit great. nice and tight. Well after all was said and done I opened up 407, and I smoked it big time. My second attempt was 441.9, which was a PR, and I smoked it real good as well. I Then went for a third attempt at 451, but I got red lighted for pumping my left arm. So I need to work on reversal strength with great speed, and start dominating the bench.
I was very happy with the bench, and it went well. just gotta get stronger.
next up was deadlifts. Now if you actually read my logs. When I first started actually training I couldn't do more then 340. Then in 1 day with some technique help from my buddy Pete Berg, who is a strongman, who's apart of our team, he help me with deadlift stuff, and in one night I went from lifting 340 which felt like a million pounds, all the way to 445 in 1 night. that is a 105 pound PR in one night. That is just nuts.
Well I opened up at 440, and it felt like nothing it shot up so quick I didn't even realize I was standing erect with the bar until I opened my eyes, and looked. Next was 473, and That shot up crazy quick. And smoked it got 3 white lights. Next up was the dreaded 501. I got down in position, rolled it out, and picked it up. Unfortunatley I did not get this lift. The judges said I had a very slight hitch. The rules are the rules and I will not argue.
So I ended the day with 308-441-473 for a 1223 total. And I got first place in my weight class. Not bad for a first meet ever that I competed in.
Overall the experience was amazing. I had alot of people there to support me. Even the people who didn't know me accepted me, and I made some great friends. I am 100 times now as motivated than ever to TRAIN, and lift big.
My next meet is September 17th, and I WILL BE, going over 1500. I am ready to SMASH FUCKING WEIGHT.
Thank you everybody for all the advice you guys have given me, and the answering of the 14,000,000 questions I have LMAO.
A special thanks to Scott and Rachel Nutter, without you guys this wouldn't of have ever been possible. You guys knew how bad I wanted to lift, and not only have we become great teammates, but I literally have become a part of your family. There is never enough love or thank you's you will get from me. And our journey has just begun. I can't wait for the future, and I'm ready to kick ass.
Also jay, Tom, Charlie, Manley, Marshall, Kathy, Jeff, Pete, Marie, Garth Ryan, Mike, kaleb. and everyone else. You guys make the best team in the world. I love you all.
AND MY LAST MESSAGE FOR THE HATERS THAT DOUBTED ME, AND WISHED FOR MY DEMISE:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Iron Hummingbird Power BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!

We were all very proud of you mikey. Now you have to learn how to squat and dead in a meet. You kinda jumped into the deep end of the pool with out knowing how to swim, and guess what you didnt drown. That means your meant to be on the platform. You just need to calm down, put the work in, and not get swept up in the hole "haters" buisness, cuz guess what there will always be haters. Always stay humble, never run your mouth, and let your training do the talking. Congrats again my friend -Blake "GCM" Riley

Well for every bad training day there is a great one to follow, and it didn't disappoint. Today was Monday and I went and squatted. A very Smart Idea, I need to be consistent and training right or I'll never see numbers. Satisfaction is the death of desire.
I need help with squat programming, so please any advice will help greatly. If you remember I squatted 308 in my last meet, which was my first meet. Which is less then I way so I hope you understand the 147 pound PR lol.
Warm ups --------------- Sumo hold --------------- indian clubs --------------- foam rolling --------------- dynamic stretching ---------------
Squats ---------- barx10 135x10 225x5 275x5 315x3 (tecnically this is a PR) 365x3 (PR) 405x1 (PR) 455x1 (147 pound PR)
That was it, had to go home. I was quite happy with it because we got it on video, and it was very deep, leaving no doubt it would get passed in a meet. 3 white lights as they would say. If anybody wants to see it, friend request me on facebook, and you'll see it.
Satisfaction is the death of desire.

So today was the Elite Barbell benching Saturday extravaganza. A very good training session today. Got my head in and focused just like I needed to to actually make a difference in my training.
Warm ups ...................... Indian clubs ...................... Stretching ...................... Rotator cuff work ...................... Band circuit .....................
Benching ................... Barx10 95x10 135x8 185x5 225x5 255x5 275x3 Added Titan ram 315x2 Put on bench shirt 365x3 385x3 405x3 425x3 (PR)
Dead lifts .................. 135x8 225x5 315x3 385x3 405x3 455x2(PR)
Overall it was a good training day and I was happy I didn't train like a pussy. But like I said before if you become content with your training your setting yourself up for failure. The reason I did benching and deadlifts in the same training session was because I didn't have enough time in the week to go do deadlifts individually so who gives a fuck gotta train and not complain. So until next time see you later. Also I have a pair of briefs coming in the mail so look forward to seeing me squat some nice numbers soon. Peace.

Ok today was just an assistance day. Simple and effective. I need to train my lower back, and make it stronger, and my posterior chain. And my abs. And my squat, bench, deadlift, nutrition, and just about everything. I'm not going to lie, everything needs work lol.
Basically I have no clue what I'm talking about ever.
Anyways here we go.
Warm ups ------------ Stretching ------------ Indian Clubs ------------ Foam rolling
Training session
Chain Suspended Good Morning with cambered bar (the bar is 75 pounds) barx5 125x3 165x3 260x3 345x3
These were all done with the bar hanging very low, and with as strict form as possible. They sucked, but I'm sure will help greatly.
Single leg Hypers 5x5 each leg
Superman holds 20 second holds for 6 times (works the lumbar support very well if done correctly)
And that was it. It was to damn hot outside. WAYYYYYYYYy to hott. Holy shit. until Next time Mike out!!!

I went in and trained Tuesday, and did rack pulls instead of benching. And I did them right where my sticking point was at, so these were big time gut busters. I am fast off of the floor, but sticking point is right where it gets to my knees and then because I'm not patient enough I start yanking, and I get red lights for hitching.
Warm Ups ----------- Indian clubs ----------- foam rolling ----------- stretching -----------
Rack Pulls (below knees) 245x5 295x5 335x3 385x3 425x2 455x2 245x8 DROP SET 245x10 DROP SET
this was a training session in a gym that was hot, with 103 degrees outside, and also I worked 10 hours in that heat, and hadnt eaten anything since 6.30 a.m that morning. I was spent after that. Damn it was super hot. But winners train losers complain. The pain of today will be strength tomorrow.
