My training style has been coined the Chaos method. One of my mentors Ac(anthony) Carlquist gave it the name the chaos method, sounds cool so I kept it. I never ever take a light day, every day in the gym as heavy as possible whether it is just a one rep day or three rep day. I will train for 3-4 months straight as heavy as possible everyday in the gym. I think one of the ways I have managed to avoid injury is because I listen to my body. To quote a great lifter " its the weird pain you have to worry about"(hoss). Normal everyday aches and pains come with the territory, you can work through them. The only thing limiting you is your own tolerance to pain, those afraid of pain will never know glory. Its the weird pain that has make you stop and say, wow this doesn't feel right I better back off. Ice and rest ice and rest repeat. Your in powerlifting, you can train thru sore joints and sore backs. In my opinion these normal aches and pains are no excuse, no excuse what so ever. Sore back is not an injury, torn bicep thats an injury. Nothing makes me more angry than someone sitting out from a training session cuz their back is sore. Some people may think this is extreme and it is to much to ask of my teammates but I wouldn't expect anyone to do something that I myself wouldn't. I leave everything in the gym. You think chuck v got to where he is by taking easy days or skipping a session cuz his back hurt. Great lifters are born from great sacrifice. Sacrifice is the bridge between domination and defeat. The chaos method is never taking an easy day and lifting as heavy as possible every training session.
