I am trying to get back in strongman competition shape after having surgery. The Comp. is in Red Bluff on July 4th.

We need to get you a plan going for your training. There are plenty of things you can do right now that will not bother your tummy.

11/24/10
Tonight I trained arms at Golds:
-Seated Preacher curls -Straight Bar Curls -A few different bicep exercises with cables -Dips with extra chain weight -Push Downs -DB french presses -A lot of forearm work for grip and obviously forearms.
I skipped running tonight so I made up for it by doing a lot of super sets and drop sets at the end of the workout. Then I took Dozer for a long walk.
I am frustrated with the way I have lost some strength after the surgery. I know it will be back soon but until then I don't even want to post the weight I am doing because it so far off where I was a month ago.

11/25/10 (Thanksgiving)
Shoulders at Golds:
The "gym" was packed today; nothing ut fake tits and real assholes!
-Seated Military presses -Front delt raises -Side Lateral raises -2 different rear delt rows -I did DB shrugs for a few "heavy" sets then did a super set where i start at the heavy end and work to failure then go to the next DB and do the same until I have done about 6-7 DB weights in descending order. Its not great for strength but its great for muscle endurance. - Lastly I did an exercise that is off a cable that is a super-set that hits all 3 heads of the shoulder I call it "Cerberus" after the mythological Greek creature with 3 heads who guarded the gates of Hades. Its an ass kicker, again for endurance not strength.
Rode 2 miles on the bike.
I ca feel like I am getting some strength back yet mentally I am not fully there yet, I can't get angry at the weight like I used to, It will be back soon enough.

11/30/10
Ran A mile at 24hour then drove to Hoss'. I smelled burning rubber while on the treadmill. Is there a weight limit on those things?
Bench night
- Worked up to a on rep max against green bands.
-"Buffpress" I did a total of 9 sets for 5 reps each. I did wide grip, med. grip then narrow (on Hoss' orders). The closer in I made my grip the more it blew up my triceps so that was fun!
- "Taitpresses" I did these from the floor and not off of a bench, mostly because I started doinf floor presses and was fried from the Buffpress.
- I did some rep work with 225 on the bench but my stamina was not so great at this point so it was a disappointment.
I realize that I am on my way back to being 100% after the surgery and time off that followed but the lack of weight I was able to put up was very depressing to me. I know that I'm not 100% but I didn't realize how off of that I really am. This fact is pissing me off and motivating me to get back as soon as I can and get even better!

Have not posted a lot lately. I have been doing a t of cardio and nothing in the way of weights to mention.
I did reach a big step in my recovery; I was able to do abs for the first time since my surgery so tomorrow I'm going to try to to light on deadlifts, we shall see how that goes...

Last night DL was great time
I worked my way up to 4plates off blocks plus black bands. Not sure how much those suckers weigh but they are heavy at the top.
Then did suspended good mornings.
Got to train with my old training partner Frank last night (he made a Hoss gym appearance) and it was a great time!
