This was my first shirt workout since last meet. Every thing moved fast but felt heavy? Think my joints were saying WTF? But thats a good sign where my strength should end up this cycle. My technique was dead on so this should be a fun one.

Was supose to train legs today but mother nature had other plans for me. We are getting dumped on with snow. I spent two hours shoveling and snow blowing. Cooked the wife and kids dinner and then went out and spent another hour and a half moving slow again. My lower back is fried so I think I will skip my workout for tonight and make up for it later in the week.

Early morning workout. Haven't been real religious at the gym this week. But I decided this is Christmass week so I chose to get things ready for X-mass than spending much of my time in the gym. My little guy is so excited it brings me joy just watching his anticipation. Merry X-mass to all my Friends at Hoss Gym!

Was going to try some reverse bands in a shirt but it was like a circus act trying to get everything set up right Going to take a nother sht at getting the set up right next week going to try using the Monolift instead of the cage. got some Video's of training to post later.

Was going to do some speed bench with Mini bands doubled. During 1st set felt something pop in my right shoulder and it felt like a knife was sticking me so I shut it down and moved onto pushdowns

Well its New Years Day............
Looking back on 2010 really sucked! It was a rough year on the platform for me but hey shit happens. I learned some valuable training lessons from my mistakes. 2010 took a good friend and fellow lifter away from all of us. Keep Nick Winters and his family in your thoughts and prayers as you get to continue on in the sport and life. The hardest part of this year was December 29th @ 2:00 AM when I received the phone call that I never wanted to hear. My Mentor Rick Hussey had passed. I knew he was suffering and the battle against cancer was getting the best of him but it is not something I was ready for. For those of you that knew Rick know what a great man he was. If he blew you shit or rode your ass you earned his respect. And if you earned a nickname from Rick you knew he loved you. As Rick would say you don't just get a nickname around here you have to earn it. He was rough on the outside but had the biggest heart. He lived for Powerlifting and his team of lifters. He did everything in his power to help his guys out in life and in Powerlifitng. I met Rick for the first time at a USAPL meet and we had no idea who each other was. He saved me from bombing at that meet. After the meet I thanked him and he made fun of me for lifting in the USAPL. Rick was at the meet because one of his team members was running the meet and Rick spotted and loaded all day. Over the past 8 years I have been fortunaute enough to become close with Rick. I learned so much from him about training and competing. Rick always had words of wisdom for me and when he spoke after I got done laughing I always remembered what he had said becuase it was truth. He was one of the funniest people I have ever met and no matter how tense the situation he could take me from spitting blood angry to laughing tears with just a few words of wisdom. Rick wasn't just there for you to help you with Powerlifting he was threre to help ou and teach you about life. I battled some demons a few years back and out of the blue Rick called me just to be a friend. He wasn't trying to get in my business he was just trying to get me back on track. Rick you were my Mentor, my coach, my friend, and my BIg brother I love you and will cherish all the time we spent to gether. Thank you for the memories. Until we meet again..................

All in all a good workout. Had a packed house of lifters show up today Jake Baker (Dubuque Ia) Barzeen & Rudy Rosales (Chicago IL) Vinny Miles (Monnmouth IL) Bruce McCord (Dekalb IL) all drove out to train today along with my regular guys. Every one looked strong. Awesome to have the man that makes your shirts train with you. Rudy is very knowledgable about training and helped me tweak a few things I was fukking up. I will post a few groups vidoe's of todays training later on.
