I'm just coming off from a meet this past weekend where I sucked ass! 940 bench at 275. That was my opener and it took me two attempts to get it right. took 1005 for a ride and it just wasn't my day. Frustrating to say the least.
My body is somewhat beat up so I am just using this week as a rehab week and doing some light work to get the blood moving and test my body.
Elliptical - 10 mins
Close Grip Bench - barx12x2 95x12 135x12 185x12 225x12 275x12 315x7 365x3 all full range
Pushdowns - 100x15 125x15 150x15 175x12
All sets were done right after cardio with one minute rest inbetween sets. Pretty much felt like one long cardio session. I know Hoss what the fuck was I thinking....lol

Cardio? is that when you run to the refrigerator?
is Close grip part of your training plan for a meet or is it just something you add in sometimes?

Rob I know that Hara has always done inside grip bench on dynamic or speed day. Do you vary your grip like westside says to do say 3 different grips? Do you use boards with inside grip? Hara has always done full range raw inside grip.

I use close grip on my raw work weather its full range, board work, band or chains, floor presses ect. I also use close grip when i do my speed work which follows my heavy raw work.

Turkey Day Training
Elliptical Foam Roller stretching Standing cable pulls 155x15x5
Just some light work today. My left elbow is still jacked up going to get some ART work done this week on it. only bothers me on pulling movements.
Weighed 281 this morning. I am taking part in the Anual Vincent Dizenzo Bloatathon. Goal is to get over 300 lbs today.

Incline Bench - 225x6 275x6 315x6
Decline Bench - 275x6 315x6 365x6
Peck Deck - 130x12x3
Just some light work today. Body is still a little peppered from meet. Haven't done incline or decline in forever stabalizers felt awkward. Cardio pretty much sucked. Body weight 285

I am going to start working with Keifer the diet guru this week. My goal is to get as lean and thick as possible. I want to walk around at a solid 285-290. I need to get stronger by putting on leaner mass. I will still be competing at 275 and maybe even 308. I have unfinished fukking business.

Didn't make it to the gym at all last night. My son Hunter had his first wrestling practice last night and it ran longer then I expected. I hate missing training but its ok if its for him. I set my alarm the last two mornings with the intention of getting my cardio in first thing in the morning. both days I got up took a piss and thought to myself what would Hoss do. So I went back to bed. Hoss your a bad influence!

yes your making all the right decisions. Hunters practice over yours is the right move and sleeping in over cardio is also. Hell just think the extra sleep is way better for your bench then cardio LOL LOL

Trained alone today so I decided to stay with light weight. Kills my shoulders to hand off and hold boards with more then 405 by myself. Body is starting to feel better so I think next week I will start back in heavy. Hoping to have a scheduled figured out so I can get my training in and still get Hunter to practice on Mon and Wed without being late to pick him up. I figure if Hoss can do it so can I.
